Spirk: “It’s not going to be an easy road this year in terms of being able to be present all the time, at every practice and every game, but I’m going to give my best. I hope that I can serve as a reminder to not only our players and the coaching staff but also friends and family who support the women’s basketball team that you’re going to find obstacles in life, but you have to push through.” (link)

#7: Centenary (NJ) President Dale Caldwell has been elected Lieutenant Governor of New Jersey. (link)

#6: As part of the college’s $275M Faithfully Forward campaign, Wheaton (IL) will launch a $23M facility expansion to upgrade locker rooms, weight room, athletic training spaces and more. Construction is set to begin in summer 2026. AD Mike Schauer: “This is a significant moment in the history of Wheaton Athletics. These improvements will allow Thunder Athletics to continue our long-standing tradition of excellence while opening recreational space for the rest of the campus. This project will also improve our ability to attract recruits while enhancing the overall experience of our enrolled student-athletes. #5: The CCIW selects Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League Commissioner and former American Rivers Commissioner Chuck Yrigoyen to serve as Interim Executive Director, with retired Executive Director Maureen Harty to serve as Special Assistant to the Executive Director through the end of the academic year.
