Let me know if it’s better for me to clean out my office, or if you would prefer to pack everything up and send it to me. I assume HR will be in touch regarding any other housekeeping matters out there, but let me know if you need anything else from me in the meantime. As we discussed in our meeting, I’m open to your desire to reach a settlement of what’s owed to me under the contract, although of course it would have to make sense financially. Despite your decision to let me go today, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to lead this program over the last four years and wish you all the best going forward. Best, Brian.” (link)

#3: Massachusetts selects Rhode Island AD Thorr Bjorn as its new Senior Deputy AD/Chief Administrative Officer. #2: From interim AD to permanent AD in quick fashion, LSU has a new full-time boss in Verge Ausberry. (link); Meanwhile, new LSU President Wade Rousse on contract dynamics for the next Football HC in Baton Rouge: “I do support the idea that we're going to try to base contracts on incentive base, or contracts are going to be based on incentives and how we win and how does that work and how we get paid based on winning. I'd like to think we could do that in our athletics contracts. We all know the market's the market. We are very determined to go find the absolute best coach there is to come take the best coaching job in America and come lead us to our next national championship. We have a global brand that's mostly driven by what happens in Tiger Stadium. There's no doubt in our mind that we are going to get the fit to make that happen.” (link); Also of note, though Rousse is technically the new LSU system president - with former Alabama Provost Jim Dalton named as Chancellor for the Baton Rouge campus, the LSU athletic department will flow up directly to Rousse. #1: Denver will exit the Summit League and join the WCC, effective July 1, 2026, to become the league’s 10th full member in 2026-27 and 11th in 2027-28. Commissioner Stu Jackson: “Denver’s commitment to elevate men’s and women’s basketball to a level which matches its nationally recognized success in other sports, while maintaining a focus on student-athlete development and experiences, is among the foundational pillars to this expansion. Their multi-year basketball growth plan shows an intentional focus that meets our basketball-centric identity. The Conference also values the addition of another large metropolitan area and top media market which will broaden our reach and deliver greater opportunity for our membership.” ESPN's Pete Thamel had the news first.
