A full House vote on the SCORE Act has been postponed. Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger adds: “Several college sports leaders - including the A4 commissioners - are in Washington D.C. for today's scheduled vote. That vote may now be held Thursday, but that remains unclear. Republican leaders are still whipping votes. The margin was expected to be extremely slim.” (link)

SCORE Act Positions…
➤ President Donald Trump has issued a statement of administration policy endorsing the SCORE Act that reads in part: “The Administration supports passage of H.R. 4312. … The SCORE Act advances key priorities identified in Executive Order 14322 and is a crucial step toward enacting legislation that will preserve and strengthen this institution that is central to American culture and success. If H.R. 4312 were presented to the President following passage in both chambers, his advisors would recommend that he sign it into law.” Full statement. (link)
➤ The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) has released a statement in support of the SCORE Act. (link)
➤ The Congressional Black Caucus (link) and players associations for the WNBA, NWSL and PWHL (link) issued statements today in opposition to the SCORE Act.

The CCIW hires former RMAC (DII) Interim Commissioner Lexie Vernon as its new Executive Director, starting January 1. Carthage President/CCIW Council of Presidents Chair John Swallow: “Lexie Vernon was a standout candidate from the start, and our all-institution search committee, very ably assisted by search consultant Kurt Patberg, was extremely impressed by her broad experience, deep passion, and tireless work ethic. The ECAC receives a $1M grant from the Betty Wold Johnson Foundation and will partner with the New York Jets to launch a new women’s flag football league this spring, culminating in a championship game at MetLife Stadium. New York Jets Chairman Woody Johnson: “Empowering young women through football has always been central to our mission. Partnering with the ECAC to launch this league creates a clear pathway for student-athletes to compete, grow, and lead—on the field and beyond. The Jets ECAC Women’s Flag Football League builds on the success of our high school girls’ flag program, which opened doors for thousands of athletes across the region. Now, we’re taking the next step: collegiate play, Olympic dreams, and a future professional league.” DIII members include Allegheny, Eastern, Franciscan, Kean, Montclair State, Sweet Briar and Union. St. John Fisher partnered with Collegiate Consulting to conduct a strategic athletics assessment. Of note: “Recommendations include adding new athletic administrative positions, enhancing camp revenue models, and pursuing facility upgrades such as an athletic bubble and a new multi-sport turf field. The study also emphasized improving coach evaluations, roster management, and student-athlete feedback processes.” (link)

Of note from DI: Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti is leading a multi-state effort against the College Sports Commission's participation agreement ahead of today’s deadline, urging schools not to sign the document, which requires them to waive their right to sue over enforcement decisions. A press release from Skrmetti’s office reads, in part: “Under the proposed Agreement, the CSC could strip schools of all conference revenue and impose postseason bans if any state, state official, student-athlete, or other third party brings litigation ‘related in any way’ to the CSC rules, investigations, or enforcement decisions – even if the CSC is ultimately found to have violated the law. A university could face financial and competitive devastation simply because a student-athlete exercised their legal rights or because a state attorney general investigates illegal conduct. The Agreement also forces institutions to waive rights to a jury trial and accept mandatory arbitration, which many public universities cannot legally do.” Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger adds: “This deadline will not be met as several schools have not signed. All 68 A4 schools must sign for it to be enforceable. Officials are now working toward modifications to the agreement.” (link, link)

Lake Forest Women’s Basketball/Golf HC Tamlyn Tills will resign from her WBB HC role after this season and continue to lead the women’s golf program. (link)

Manhattanville has parted ways with Men’s Basketball HC Jon Merceus after he was arrested last week for endangering the welfare of a student. Merceus, who was working full-time at a school for children with autism while coaching, reportedly obstructed the student’s breathing. AC Romello Ford has been named Acting HC. (link)
