#6: Lee AD Carpenter will retire at the end of the month after 28 years leading the Flames, transitioning to a new role as Special Asst. to the AD. Director of Golf Maupin will succeed Carpenter in the AD chair. President Walker: "When a leader the caliber of Larry Carpenter steps away, we are blessed to have someone like Coach John Maupin to step in as the next Athletic Director of Lee University. Coach Maupin has already had a distinguished career at Lee, establishing himself as a true servant leader who is dedicated to the spiritual, academic, athletic, and leadership development of our student athletes. He is highly respected by his peers inside and outside of Lee. Wallace: "These past six months as interim AD has only solidified the fact that this is where my family and I want to be. Wayne State is a very special place located in a thriving community that is experiencing growth each day. #2: Sonoma State rolls out a set of redesigned athletic marks, about which AD Annaloro says, “Our emphasis was on creating a stronger unity between the university and athletics, and having greater visibility in the community. These marks emphasize our distinct brand, which is clear, concise and bold.” The Seawolves also announce a multi-year partnership with Nexus Sports Licensing Group, which will help SSU “expand its brand reach and revenue potential through traditional retail and eCommerce channels.” (link)
