#10: Colorado Football HC Deion Sanders has implemented a strict fine schedule for the 2026 season, levying penalties of up to $5K for social media misconduct and up to $2,500 for missing practice, workouts, treatment or film sessions, acknowledging that players are "legally making more money than at any previous point." With a roster featuring at least 42 incoming transfers, Sanders has also banned athletes from wearing gear from previous schools inside the facility and issued stern warnings regarding profanity and conduct toward women in the program. Sanders to the team: "The profanity needs to stop. I heard it myself in the dining area. It needs to stop. And make sure that we respect our women. If you get out of pocket and calling our women by their first name, that's a problem with me." (link)

#8: Power 4 CFOs and experienced leaders in a department's business and finance office are commanding a median salary of $169,315, according to data from Collegiate Sports Connect’s new Talent Benchmarking tool. Compensation for the cohort reaches as high as $325K with the top 25% earning $225,072. The Big 12 leads the pack with a median CFO salary of $180,500 while the SEC demonstrates the greatest top-end earning potential, with its 75th percentile reaching $250K. #3: Oklahoma has officially named Illinois Deputy AD/COO Roger Denny as its next AD. OU also announces that Randall Stephenson, the former AT&T CEO who has served as Chair and Special Advisor to the President for OU Athletics since 2024, will remain in that position. President Joseph Harroz Jr.: “College athletics is undergoing profound disruption that requires us to think well beyond conventional structures and roles. In Roger we have the next natural leader who understands both the complexity of the moment and the opportunities it presents. It is clear Roger will advance the bold vision needed for OU to continue leading in a highly dynamic environment. We have already seen the transformational difference Randall has made to OU Athletics with the success of football this past season. #1: Northern Arizona AD Uri Farkas will step down after being promoted to the permanent post last June. Farkas: “I will always be a strong advocate and supporter of Lumberjack Athletics and Northern Arizona University. At this time, I need to step away and focus on my physical and mental health, as well as the overall well-being of my family.
