#9: The CSAC and United East will officially merge July 1, following the initial announcement this past December of intent to merge. The 17-member entity will retain the United East name and brand. UEC Commissioner Dutton will remain in the role, while CSAC Commissioner Stroman will pursue other opportunities. During the 2023-24 transition year, eight sports will utilize previously-approved league schedules, while the remainder will compete in a unified structure. 3 Fold Group will assist with development of scheduling and championship structures for 2024-25 and beyond. The duo report: “An official announcement is expected once Villanova’s full Board of Trustees votes. The plan has already been approved by a board committee. […] Villanova is expected to use the acquisition to house its law school, meaning the campus … will host undergraduates no longer.“ (link)
