#4: Alliance will cease operations following notice from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education that its accreditation would be withdrawn, effective the end of the calendar year. “We were surprised by the Middle States' decision and have worked hard all week to evaluate the different options available to us as an institution. The administration learned of Middle States' decision on Monday afternoon, and the Board of Trustees met Tuesday evening and again Thursday afternoon. After carefully evaluating all the options and the current financial situation, the Board has made the difficult decision to wind down on-campus and online educational offerings as of August 31, 2023. Alliance University will not offer courses for the Fall semester.” (link)

#3: Erskine names retired Newberry AD/former Flying Fleet VP for Advancement and MBB HC Patterson as its new VP for Athletics. AD/MBB HC Peeler: "We have seen remarkable growth in Athletics over the last six years. Now we are at a critical point where we need facilities and scholarships to help us compete at the NCAA Division II level. Ralph has a challenging task as the division's VP for Athletics and lead fundraiser, but we are confident he is the right person at the right time for Fleet Athletics." (link)

#2: Clayton State President Lewis announces the appointment of Green Bay (DI) Deputy AD Rolle as the Lakers new Director of Athletics. Lewis: "I am excited for Jermaine to join our leadership team and contribute his experience to build upon the outstanding foundation we have here at Clayton State. We are focused on transforming student's lives and he understands the importance of our mission and sense of urgency about facilitating the success for our student-athletes."
