#10: Non-conference football scheduling in the NSIC may be on the way out with the addition of Jamestown (NAIA), as Minnesota State Mankato AD Kevin Buisman tells The Mankato Free Press’ Chad Courrier: “We realize that fans like (nonconference) games, and the pollsters like it because it gives you measurement outside of the league for regional rankings. But there are some positives with our schedule model and cost containment, and it’s possible that we will go back to silo scheduling.” As for scheduling flexibility from legislation, either by Week 0 or extending the season by one week, Buisman prefers the Week 0 option and has already spoken with partners about a possible matchup.
