Wilcher writing: “Please know that I tried every-day to uplift my beloved Morehouse. Statistically, we improved in almost every category. We played a challenging schedule with only 2 home games and even though we asked numerous times, we were not given the resources to have a strength and conditioning program. I was hired after the recruiting season and had no recruiting budget. However, the College has made the decision to no longer retain me rather than give us the support and resources we need in order to be successful. Overall, I would like to thank my team who fought through so many adversities and never wavered in their belief.” (link)

#2: Thomas Jefferson AD/Women's Basketball HC Tom Shirley will step down as AD in August 2024, but remain on the sideline for the Rams. Shirley: “I have witnessed ‘the three names’ of the University during my career to date. Each one brought a different vantage point and a different mode of operation, but all three brought fulfillment and satisfaction. The common denominator was always the student-athletes and what an outstanding group they have been. [...] While I will pass the torch as director of athletics, I am extremely excited to continue at the University as the head coach for women’s basketball. It’s been a terrific experience. If I was able to do it again, I would do it at the same institution, in the same career. I had the opportunity to do something I thoroughly enjoyed. My best wishes go out to my successor and know that you will have my steadfast support.” (link)
