There’s a whole series of initiatives we’re going to pursue around stoking their fan base, supporting them in terms of the purchase of supplies, gear, equipment and all the rest, and I think there’s an opportunity for us to really raise the visibility of DIII in a pretty big way, and we’re going to take full advantage of that.” (link)

Torain explains the principle of “both and” to create the best academic and athletic experience for student-athletes that can create challenges for coaches, such as having multiple practices to get their whole team present. “How do you relate? How do you adjust? How are you creative in making sure that your team and athletes can still get what they need? You could still have a competitive practice, but you can't think okay we're going 3 to 5 every day. … My job is to help our coaches be creative from a practice standpoint and remember why we’re there.” Full conversation only on Connect. NCAA President Charlie Baker: "The NCAA has worked in earnest over the past year to ensure that this new broadcast agreement provides the best possible outcome for all NCAA championships, and in particular women's championships. Over the past several years, ESPN has demonstrated increased investment in NCAA championship coverage, and the Association is pleased to continue to provide a platform for student-athletes to shine. #4: Claremont McKenna Men’s Basketball student-athlete Connor Printz has retired from basketball to focus on being a full-time basketball content creator. The senior played in just 16 games during his two years playing for CMS and has amassed over 150K followers on both Instagram and TikTok and 486K on Snapchat and signed over 80 NIL deals since he started creating content in June 2022. Printz telling Sports Illustrated: “I want to show athletes that NIL is not just for All-Americans. I was a guy who didn’t really have any followers when I got to college. I locked-in on content, growing my platforms and reaching out directly to brands to engage in NIL. […] NIL has really changed my life - of course on the financial side - but it has benefited me in so many other ways. I’ve been able to meet so many people who I wouldn’t have talked to without NIL, I've been able to learn how to promote myself and gain a ton of contract negotiation experience. NIL teaches you so many things that you might not learn before graduating college. […] I'm not a guy who has played on national TV. I never had that type of help to get me where I'm at today. It has all come through hard work and I pride myself on that. No matter what level you are at, you can be successful at NIL. Just stay committed to the process and believe in yourself.” (link)
