Georgia Gwinnett promotes AD Darin Wilson to VP for Campus and External Engagement after 13 years building the Grizzlies' department. "He will continue to have administrative oversight of GGC Athletics, but daily operations will be administered by [Deputy AD] Dr. Ian Potter in the new role of Executive Athletics Director, beginning February 1." Wilson: "I have been fortunate to be at Georgia Gwinnett College and have a lead role in building athletics from scratch. It has been a unique career opportunity and personal experience. This next adventure offers even more opportunities to help this special college. I will be able to impact the campus in more significant ways and build important bridges for GGC that help the city of Lawrenceville and Gwinnett County. I have loved the relationships we've built within the Office of Athletics and I'm looking forward to continuing to build relationships across other aspects of campus and with Gwinnett County and Lawrenceville. There's going to be a transition period, but continuing to support and influence GGC athletics is going to be special for me." (link)

Point Park officially names Notre Dame College (NCAA DII) AD Scott Swain as its Interim AD. President Chris Brussalis: “Because a thorough search can and will take some time, it is crucial that we have experienced leadership in place now to assist us in making this historic move. Scott's experience will be an extraordinary asset to us as we navigate the process of applying for membership to the NCAA so we can officially join the MEC later this year.” PPU will also add former Alderson Broaddus (NCAA DII) VP for Enrollment Management/AD Carrie Bodkins as Asst. Incoming-NAIA member Baptist Bible College will change its name to Mission University. President Mark Milioni: “We have overcome in the last few years some of the most difficult things a college can experience. But today, it pleases all of us to say that we are healthier than we have been in a long, long time. Today is a new day. We have been reinvented, reinvigorated and revived. […] Having the name that we did really put us in a small pool of prospects. This is really opening the door for a lot of people to find their way to us and to honestly be welcome and be part of us. We felt it was time. It is a new day.” As the Patriots enter the NAIA, they are keeping that moniker and working to raise funds and a naming-sponsor for its fieldhouse. (link)

With the addition of Women’s Soccer and Volleyball in 2024-25, Wilberforce is hoping these help get the institution to its enrollment goal of 1K students. VP for Institutional Advancement Steve Miller: “At present enrollment is closer to 700. Our enrollment is up about 30 percent. Last year it dipped down to under 400.” (link)

Spring Arbor is adding reserve volleyball and Esports for 2024-25. Volleyball will be the fifth athletics program with a reserve team, while Esports will aim to start with a roster of 8-12 and grow to 32 by year four. (link)

Crusaders AD Noel Emenhiser: “Coach Guminsky's approach to leadership and relationships, which are at the core of the athletic experience, have really stood out through this entire process. The U.S. economy grew at an unexpectedly brisk 3.3% annual pace during 2023 Q4, far surpassing the 2% gain expected by Wall Street. For all of 2023, the U.S. economy accelerated at a 2.5% annualized pace, well ahead of the Wall Street outlook at the beginning of the year and better than the 1.9% increase in 2022. There also was progress on inflation, as core prices for personal consumption expenditures rose 2% for the period, while the headline rate was 1.7%. (link)
