#3: The Top 16 teams for Men’s (link) and Women’s (link) Basketball have been unveiled. On the MBB side, Hampden-Sydney, Randolph-Macon, Widener and John Carroll were the top four, while NYU, Rhode Island College, Wisconsin-Whitewater and Bowdoin led the WBB rankings. Washington & Lee Assoc. AD/WBB Chair Bethany Dannelly and Rochester MBB HC/MBB Chair Luke Flockerzi joined Hoopsville’s Dave McHugh to discuss the process and more. Dannelly on the impact of having second hosting priority: “Your biggest consideration is you don’t want to significantly disadvantage these teams who have worked all season to be a high-ranked team. […] Part of it is going to depend on who puts bids in to host and how can you structure things while creating a national bracket.” Asked about a flight limitation, Flockerzi: “We’re never given a number. Obviously we’re given a charge to try to limit flights as much as possible. Hopefully I’m not oversharing here, Bethany and I have had conversations that our goal this year is to get told no as many times as possible. #2: College endowment returns for FY23 were up 7.7% after dropping by 8% in FY22, according to NACUBO, which conducted a study of 688 institutions with a combined endowment value of $839B. Of the 688 institutions, 142 had an endowment valued at or over $1B. The median endowment was valued at $209M, and nearly one-third of endowments were under $100M. #1: Gordon selects Southbridge Public Schools AD Jason Linders as its next AD. Linders previously served in senior leadership roles at Grand Canyon (DI) and South Florida (DI) .
