Notre Dame College will close at the end of the semester after over a century, citing “declining enrollment, a shrinking pool of college-aged students, rising costs and significant debt.” Board of Trustees Chair Terri Bradford Eason: “Throughout this long process, we evaluated every possible option to continue the mission of Notre Dame College. Our primary focus has been to ensure our students can successfully continue their education, graduate, and – in the tradition of the Sisters of Notre Dame – live a life of personal, professional and global responsibility.” NDC has signed teach-out agreements with nine institutions including Lake Erie, Mercyhurst, Ursuline and Walsh. Athletics will continue as scheduled for the remainder of the 2023-24 season. (link, link)
