For the Women’s Basketball, Gannon, Southern Nazarene, Assumption, Texas Woman’s, Valdosta State, Catawba and Azusa Pacific remain atop their regions, with Grand Valley State jumping to the top spot in the Midwest region. #3: West Alabama AD Kent Partridge will retire at the end of the academic year after 14 years in Livingston and the last three leading the Tigers. President Ken Tucker: “It has been a pleasure to have worked with Kent over the last few years in his current position as Director of Athletics, a role he has successfully undertaken with professionalism, commitment, collegiality, and a tireless work ethic, and always with what is best for the University uppermost in mind. […] I have especially valued Kent's leadership, communication skills, and ability to maintain and grow successful relationships. His knowledge and expertise will be difficult to replace. The University will expeditiously begin the challenging task of finding his replacement, but now is the time to thank Kent for his valuable service and wish him well in his upcoming retirement.” (link)

#1: Notre Dame College will close at the end of the semester after over a century, citing “declining enrollment, a shrinking pool of college-aged students, rising costs and significant debt.” Board of Trustees Chair Terri Bradford Eason: “Throughout this long process, we evaluated every possible option to continue the mission of Notre Dame College. Our primary focus has been to ensure our students can successfully continue their education, graduate, and – in the tradition of the Sisters of Notre Dame – live a life of personal, professional and global responsibility.” NDC has signed teach-out agreements with nine institutions including Lake Erie, Mercyhurst, Ursuline and Walsh.
