#10: Albany State appoints WBB HC Skinner as Interim AD. (link)

#9: Colorado Mesa appoints former MSU Denver/San Francisco (DI) AD McDermott as Interim AD. CMU President Marshall: “She brings a winning record with decades of experience, and more importantly brings an authentic emphasis on student-athletes that is exemplified over her entire career. Joan's heart is in Division II athletics, and we're thrilled to make her new university home Colorado Mesa University, where her love of supporting student-athletes and transforming them into future community leaders matches her desire to win.” (link)

#8: D3Hoopsville’s McHugh reports, via Nichols (DIII) MBB HC Erickson, that the Bison intend to transition to DII “sometime in the next few years,” but will be in DIII at least for 2023-24. (link)

#7: Fort Valley State selects Miami (FL - DI) Senior Assoc. AD for Administration/Chief Diversity Officer Myles Payne as its next AD, starting March 15. FVSU President Jones: "Dr. Myles Payne's exceptional leadership qualities and extensive experience in collegiate athletics make her the ideal candidate for this position. We are excited to have her join the Fort Valley State University family and look forward to working together to elevate our athletic program. I have no doubt FVSU is poised to continue its tradition of excellence and achieve new levels of success." (link)

#5: Barry AD Covone will retire at the end of June after 39 years in Miami Shores and a quarter-century leading the Buccaneers. President Allen: "Mike Covone is an exceptional leader, who has dedicated his life to helping student athletes achieve their full potential on and off the field,. We are deeply grateful for his service and commitment to Barry athletics, and his legacy will endure for generations of student athletes to come." (link)

#4: Central Missouri unveiled the search committee for its next VP for Intercollegiate Athletics, to be chaired by Provost and VP for Academic Affairs Bridgmon. President Best: “We have a history of tremendous success in intercollegiate athletics, and it is critical that we continue and expand upon this success into the future. We are in a transformative time in intercollegiate athletics. This search process will provide ample opportunity for wide-ranging expressions of interest and will allow everyone, including students, faculty, staff, alumni and supporters, to be apprised of the strengths of the person I ultimately select to serve in this important role.” Review of candidates will begin in early April, with the goal of hosting finalists on campus later in the month. #1: Following Fort Lewis MBB earning the 2-seed in the South Central region, the RMAC “submitted a letter to the NCAA DII Men’s Basketball Committee outlining concerns involving tournament selections and seeding. We object to their decision to replace Fort Lewis College as the top seed in the region, a position that they rightfully earned.” (link); Colorado School of Mines AD Hansburg took to Twitter to speak out for his RMAC conference brethren: “Sadly, the integrity of this regional championship has been taken away from all 8 teams who are participating. Kudos and thank you to the RMAC presidents for speaking out!” (link)
