#6: ASC Commissioner Carlton will step down at the end of the academic year after over 21 years with the league. Hardin-Simmons President/ASC Council of Presidents Chair Bruntmyer: "The Conference is thankful for the work Amy has done with the membership, first in her supporting role to Fred Jacoby and then as commissioner for the last 17 years. During her tenure, the Conference witnessed national championships and deep tournament runs, and gained the attention of institutions and conferences across the country through student, administrator and coach leadership roles within Division III and professional organizations." #4: Suspended Linfield MBB HC Rosenberg informs the school he will sue for up to $2.5M in damages for wrongful termination if he is not reinstated. Per a letter from Rosenberg’s attorney: “Despite his successes and achievements on behalf of Linfield University, Coach Rose has been targeted by Athletic Director Garry Killgore, who has treated my client with extreme hostility, retaliation, and harassment.” The attorney’s letter also accuses Killgore of retaliatory conduct against multiple athletics staff and President Davis of “after-the-fact fabrication of a racist justification for firing Mr. Rosenberg” that “is evidence of ‘consciousness of guilt’ over the lack of basis in the decision to fire my client." #1: Ripon names Illinois Wesleyan Asst. AD for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion/Director of T&F Schumacher as the Red Hawks' next AD, effective June 1. Schumacher: "Athletics should be an extension of the College. It should not be its own entity. We want our College and our teams to have a welcoming environment. I'm looking forward to taking my experience to help mentor young, energetic coaches. I am particularly excited to have a broader impact across the entire campus, both in and out of athletics, as a visible leader whose life philosophy of faith, equity, service and compassion can help lead and grow Ripon College.
