You don’t plan on stuff like that as a head coach and sometimes you feel like it’s your fault, you’re responsible for 100 kids. I’m just proud of the way they played. … Glad they could get a win.” The Bucs will wait until this afternoon to try to venture home and take a different route. (link)

#2: Gonzaga is headed to the Pac-12 as its eighth full member, effective 2026-27. Zags President Thayne McCulloh: “Following discussions with Pac-12 member presidents, I believe membership will represent an opportunity to participate in building a conference that imagines new, forward-thinking ways to support student-athletes in a rapidly changing collegiate sports landscape. Partnerships with a new group of universities can also assist in our student recruitment and enrollment efforts, create opportunities for academic collaboration with new faculty colleagues, and attract more students who value an excellent education distinctively rooted in our Jesuit identity and tradition. I am particularly excited about the opportunities partnering with this group of institutions can offer our students, faculty, and staff for multi-institutional collaboration.” ESPN's Pete Thamel had the news first. #1: The tally is now four, as Utah State joins Wyoming, Boise State and Southern Utah in forfeiting games to San José State volleyball this season. Utah Governor Spencer Cox: “I stand with the students, coaches and leadership at @SUUtbirds and @USUAggies in their decision to forgo their women’s volleyball matches against San José State. It is essential that we preserve a space for women to compete fairly and safely. Our female athletes are left grappling with this difficult issue because the NCAA has failed in its responsibility to protect female athletes and women’s sports. It’s time for the NCAA to take this seriously and protect our female student athletes.” (link)
