#5: The NCAA Women’s Volleyball Tournament field is set with Pittsburgh, Nebraska, Penn State & Louisville as the top seeds. Play began on Thursday & culminates with the Final Four in Louisville later this month. Last four in were NC State, San Diego State, UTEP & Washington. First four out were Arizona, Rice, San Diego & Pepperdine. Marquette Executive Assoc. AD for Compliance, Marketing & Sales Danielle Josetti was the selection committee chair: “The first four teams out, they had some great resumes, some great wins, but when compared to the teams that made it in there were some losses in the 100 or 200 range, strength of schedule that was 200 or above or high KPIs. Collectively, those are things that are part of that nitty gritty that kept them out. [...] The most lengthy conversation was about that 4-5 seed. We talked in great detail all three days because you want to get that right. Getting to potentially host two weekends in a row is significant.” Lots more from Josetti. (link, link, link)

And for some reason, that I do not understand, the athletic director would not allow that to happen and instead fired him from halfway around the world. And I think that is shameful. [...] I was angry and I thought that is not how you treat a Hall of Fame coach that is the winningest coach at Carolina. And you damn sure don’t do it from halfway around the world.” (link)
