#10: With the closest conference member an eight-hour drive away, Colorado College AD Lesley Irvine emphasizes the Tigers are proud members of the SCAC and excited about the membership changes within the league, adding: “We have such great colleagues and institutions who see the value in what CC brings to that conference. We work really hard to be great colleagues, members and teammates. We work really hard at providing a great experience, so we work hard around event management at CC. I say that because I think a lot of our member institutions from Texas who fly into Colorado Springs, I think they love it. That's the feedback we get, it's a great trip. I think they recruit to that, to say Colorado College is a member of this league and you'll get to get on a plane and go to the springs to play conference competition.” On how her leadership style has evolved since her time as a Field Hockey HC at Stanford (DI): “I think I would describe myself as very much a coach's AD and what I mean by that is I think anyone who's worked with me knows it's really important for me to be able to give feedback and create an aspirational environment, so I think that that's been consistent for me throughout the career. […] Thinking about my head coaching days, I don't sweat the small stuff as much. I think if something happens and something happens all the time, just evaluating whether you think, am I going to be worried about this in six months or not. And if you're not going to be worried about it in six months, I think we can let some of those things go.” More on BOSCA. (link)
