However, that has been the prevailing theory in the industry and it has led to pain points on both sides in the partnerships between athletic departments and MMR companies who are subject to normal ebb and flow market forces.” Hedgpeth continues: “We are starting to see success in innovative contract structures where we give our schools a figure that adjusts annually based on actual historical property performance. [...] We put CAPEX dollars to work to drive incremental revenue. We’ll invest in high-end hospitality and experiences. We’ll do stadium enhancements or buy tv-visible signage.” Notably from LEARFIELD: “Ohio State University [recently] became [our] first partner to surpass $30M in property revenue in fiscal 2023.” Teall Sports & Entertainment Founder/Chairman/CEO Sutton: “Marketplace tension is a primary driver of the evolution of the market. That realization, along with significant burnout over the past few years, has led me to this decision to turn down the opportunity to stay and instead continue my professional journey in a different direction. I hope to have 40+ years and many opportunities to be a great employee and worker during my life, but I only have one opportunity to be a great dad to my three boys and I'm bound and determined not to let it pass me by."
