The CUNYAC will add NJCU as part of “an expanded and newly-formed NCAA Division III conference to begin play in the 2027-28 academic year.” CUNYAC Commissioner Kurt Patberg: “This is the first step of several of adding Division III institutions that seek to compete in a conference that has a special emphasis on New York City and the five boroughs.” The Gothic Knights will depart the NJAC after the 2025-26 academic year and join the CUNYAC as an affiliate member in most sports for 2026-27.
