PacWest Commissioner Jessica Harbison Weaver will step down next week after two years leading the league. Harbison Weaver: “When I was hired as commissioner I had several large-scale goals I wanted to achieve—I could have never imagined blowing them out of the water in just two years. Together the conference put on the first Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championships; we put the conference all on the same digital network to drive revenue to our institutions; increased championship revenue to offset rising costs for the conference office; got a volleyball championship approved; right-sized our championships; launched a championship-specific merchandise portfolio; got a new strategic plan approved; and enhanced the student-athlete experience in ways too numerous to count. I’m a builder at heart, but I’m looking forward to enjoying some time off before moving on to my next opportunity to help another organization dream big. I wish the PacWest the best of luck moving forward.” (link)
