#10: Smith is the subject of a recent Office for Civil Rights complaint filed by Defending Education over the college’s policy of admitting transgender students, which they claim violates Title IX. American Association of Colleges and Universities President/former Mount Holyoke President Lynn Pasquerella: “In defending higher education against President Trump’s attack on the academy, we have to return to the fundamental mission and purposes of our institutions … Women’s colleges were founded to serve those who were pushed to the margins of society, and today that mission includes trans women.” (link)

#8: Rockford officially names Assoc. AD for Compliance and Eligbility/SWA Jessica Stanek as its next AD. President Patricia Lynott: “Jess has established herself as a trusted leader within our athletics program, across the RU campus, and within the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. Jess brings deep institutional knowledge, a strong connection to our student-athletes and coaches, and a clear vision for the future of Athletics on our campus. #6: President Donald Trump has signed the “Saving College Sports” executive order, which “requires the preservation and, where possible, expansion of opportunities for scholarships and collegiate athletic competition in women’s and non-revenue sports; prohibits third-party, pay-for-play payments to collegiate athletes. This does not apply to legitimate, fair-market-value compensation that a third party provides to an athlete, such as for a brand endorsement; provides that any revenue-sharing permitted between universities and collegiate athletes should be implemented in a manner that protects women’s and non-revenue sports; directs the Secretary of Labor and the National Labor Relations Board to clarify the status of student-athletes in order to preserve non-revenue sports and the irreplaceable educational and developmental opportunities that college sports provide; directs the Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission to take appropriate actions to protect student-athletes’ rights and safeguard the long-term stability of college athletics from endless, debilitating antitrust and other legal challenges; and directs the Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy and the Director of the White House Office of Public Liaison to consult with the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams and other organizations to protect the role of college athletics in developing world-class American athletes.” (link); Full text. #5: St. John Fisher removes the interim tag from AD Jennifer Granger, who has been leading the Cardinals since June 2024. VP for Enrollment Management Jose Perales: “I am thrilled to announce Jennifer Granger as our new director of athletics and recreation. Jen understands the special role that intercollegiate athletics plays on our campus and in the community. For more than two decades, she has been an integral part of the team that has led some of our most successful years athletically, and she is well-positioned to accelerate the excellence of Fisher athletics. #4: Rivier names Anna Maria AD Joseph Brady as the Raiders’ next AD. President Paula Marie Buley: “Joseph brings a deep understanding of collegiate athletics, including the Great Northeast Athletic Conference, and a clear vision for the future of our programs. He will be a strong leader for our athletics staff and student-athletes as they continue to build on the momentum of Raiders athletics heading into the 2025-26 academic year.” (link)

#3: Gettysburg names Frostburg State (DII) AD/alumnus Troy Dell as its new AD. VP of Enrollment and Educational Services Carey Thompson: “Troy separated himself from an extremely strong candidate pool as we moved through this process. The work he has accomplished at Frostburg over the last nearly two decades, especially in the world of strategic planning, fundraising, and facility enhancement, made him the ideal candidate to continue to elevate Gettysburg Athletics and move the department and College forward. He will be a strong leader as we strive to provide a championship experience for all of our student-athletes while continuing to ensure our athletes thrive in the classroom and support them in the consequential education that Gettysburg provides.” (link)

#2: Nichols VP/AD Jack Hayes departs after three years leading the Bison to become Assoc. AD for Principal Gifts at Connecticut (DI). Hayes: “Serving as the Director of Athletics at Nichols College over the past three years has been a very rewarding experience. We've celebrated conference championships, NCAA Tournament appearances, and most importantly, the growth and success of our student-athletes on and off the field. I'm incredibly proud of what we've accomplished, and I am grateful to the coaches, staff, and student-athletes who made these achievements possible.” Deputy AD/SWA Kristan Mallet will serve as Interim AD. #1: Willamette AD Rob Passage will transition to a new role in Human Resources after eight years leading the Bearcats. WU selects Williams Senior Assoc. AD for Compliance and Sports Supervision Leslie Shevlin as its next AD, starting August 6. Prior to spending the last year at Williams, Shevlin spent the previous 14 years at Willamette. Shevlin: “This opportunity fills me with enthusiasm, and I look forward to reconnecting with a community and an institution I believe in deeply. […] Rob's unwavering commitment to delivering an exceptional student-athlete experience at Willamette has left a lasting impact.
