#10: CLC reports that it secured multi-year extensions of its agency agreements with 51 partner institutions over the last six months of FY25, including a decade-long-plus deal with Drew. Other multiyear DIII partnerships include Alma, Buffalo State, Caltech, Case Western Reserve, Emory, Rhode Island College, RPI, St. John Fisher, Trinity (CT), Ursinus, Wellesley, and Wesleyan. #9: Adrian officially opened its $11M Sweebe Family Indoor Athletic Facility with a 131K square-foot dome with a full turf field and four-lane track and a 5K square-foot operations support space. (link)

#8: Virginia Wesleyan will change its name to Batten University starting July 1, 2026, in recognition of the significant contributions made by the Batten family. Since Trustee Emeritus Jane Batten joined the board in 1981 and became chair in 1995, the family has supported a number of key projects, including the Batten Honors College’s $80.3M endowment, the $22M Jane F. Batten Student Center, the $20M Greer Environmental Sciences Center, the sponsoring of eight professors and numerous students each year, one of two lead gifts to relocate the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art and more. Batten: “You need to know one really important thing: this was not my idea. However, after discussions, I have sincerely come to believe that the change to Batten University will be a very positive move for the institution, its students and this region…What about Virginia Wesleyan? I promise that our over 60-year history and heritage is not being abandoned. We’re building on our Methodist ethic of service and education. This university will just become a better version of itself.” President Scott Miller: “This is more than a name change. #6: 23 DIIIs are among 32 colleges facing an antitrust lawsuit alleging the use of early decision admissions to increase tuition and reduce the amount of financial aid offered. Per the suit, these schools are “participating in practices that entrench patterns of inequality of access while inflating the price of attendance. [...] School administrators know that very few applicants decline an Early Decision offer based on cost, especially after having been falsely told that they may do so only if the offer is inadequate to make it ‘possible’ to attend the school.” (link)

#2: Kenyon AD Jill McCartney is no longer leading the Owls after seven years at the helm. Asst. AD for Sports Performance/Head Athletic Trainer Mark Teeples is serving as Interim AD. (link)

#1: Bryn Mawr AD Cristina Fink is no longer leading the Owls after three years in the chair. Assoc. AD/SWA Katie Tarr will serve as Interim AD as the college transitions the responsibility for athletics to the Undergraduate Dean's Office “to facilitate more holistic and collaborative support for student-athletes.” (link)
