#10: Conference Carolinas teams up with Big Pear Sports to launch new streaming channels for “second-window content” in 2026 with schools to generate revenue through Big Pear’s Creator Syndication Fund. Assoc. Commissioner for External Relations Craig McPhail: “This partnership with Big Pear Sports gives our student-athletes and schools a powerful new platform to reach fans while creating additional financial support for the league. #5: The Strategic Planning & Finance Committee is recommending all preliminary round championship games not shown on CBS or ESPN to be offered for free on a single third-party platform, with a $150K allocation from last year’s surplus to fund operational costs for streaming championships and $10K for a social media contractor to promote 2025-26 championship preliminary rounds and the streaming platform. The SPFC will proceed with the 65% annual budget allocation to championships, up from 61%. Also, following July’s Management Council meeting, there will be no change to the DII revenue distribution formula. Lastly, Arkansas-Fort Smith AD Curtiz Janz is the new chair of the committee, succeeding NE10 Commissioner Julie Ruppert. (link)

#4: As Tuskegee prepares to host its first-ever home night game this Saturday, Golden Tigers AD Reginald Ruffin posted a clear message to supporters on Facebook: “NO FREE TICKETS.” Ruffin thanked former players and alumni for their contributions to TU and encouraged them to support the program, adding directly: “You don’t get in free or roam on the sidelines because you played here. Nope, you are not entitled to. […] Buy Your Damn Tickets.” Ruffin also emphasized that violators of safety policies, including attempting to bring in outside alcohol onto the field, will be punished. “You not going to act up when at your other favorite team games at the RTR, Mercedes-Benz Dome, Jerry’s World, Go Dawgs, WDE, Ohio Buckeyes, and Hook’em Horns. I expect the same treatment at Mother Tuskegee!!!” (link)

#3: A couple of nuggets from the most recent Executive Board and Management Council meetings recap. The election of a new Management Council Chair and Vice Chair will take place in October. Also, the Management Council did ask the D2 ADA, DII CCA and a number of other organizations for feedback on “direct institutional NIL,” as recommended by the Legislation Committee. (link)

#1: Francis Marion names USC Beaufort AD Quin Monahan as the Patriots’ new AD, as AD Murray Hartzler will retire after more than two decades at the helm. FMU President Fred Carter: “It was hard for me to imagine that we could ever find a suitable successor to Murray Hartzler. He has served us so well for so long. But Quin has his own set of very distinctive strengths, to include dynamic leadership, a fiercely competitive instinct, and decades of experience developing successful student-athletes. He will fit in here perfectly and continue our winning tradition.” (link)
